We’ve been taking a proactive approach to keeping your computer systems ready for whenever you need them since 1998. The IT industry is ever changing and those that don;t change with it get left behind.

At Service First, our goal is to be a leader in new ways to better support our clients. We have transitioned from a break/fix service model to become a full Managed Service Provider (MSP). As an MSP we offer better support solutions for clients of all sizes as well as more options for types of support required.

Our clients are very important to us and we treat every network we manage as our own. We take network issues personally and do whatever possible to avoid any downtime. While this is not always possible, we always have multiple levels of backup and recovery options to assist in any disaster recovery.

As an MSP, we offer solutions with a fixed monthly cost. No surprises! The Service First team will pro-actively monitor, maintain and support your Workstations, Servers, Storage, Networking and other core technology systems round-the-clock.

We thrive on challenge and love finding the best solutions to your business technology needs. We are never afraid to say “We don’t know”, but we will always look for and find the answer. Most times a simple collaboration with our associates leads us to the solution. One large benefit of our associate system is that between us all we have seem most everything!

A Little bit of history

In 1998, Corey Sheppard had a vision about what customer service and network support could look like. He had spent over 6 years working in retail computer sales and service but thought there had to be a better way. The entire notion of business computers getting sent in for repair was ridiculous.

On July 2nd, 1998 Service First …Total Solutions was started. Working from his home office, Corey established a relationship with his clients that still exists to this day. The key elements of the business were onsite service and personal support. Very quickly however, Corey found that it would be necessary to add additional services, not just computer maintenance.

Over the next couple of years domain and email hosting was added. Next came offering an offsite data backup solution. Service First was becoming a solutions provider, not just a network support business.

As more services were being offered, more clients were calling and more referrals were coming in. In 2006, Corey Sheppard and Paul Knapp (owner of Mission Software Systems) formed a partnership of sorts. In this, they would each keep their own clients but would look at taking new clients as a partnership. New “shared” clients would be looked after by both Corey and Paul.

Very quickly they found they had a special niche with working with not-for-profits, especially those dealing with community living. Their customer base grew to include clients from Maple Ridge, Mission, Abbotsford, Langley, Sechelt and even Kingston Ontario.

New growth lead to new problems which quickly lead to new solutions. Service First had to find a way to manage all of their clients as if they were local. Driving to each business was not an option. After much research and testing, Service First found a management platform that solved all. Integrated into one powerful panel was remote access, managed Antivirus, windows and 3rd party application patching, web protection and offsite data backup.

Service First grew into a Managed Services Provider!

Privacy and protection of both information and individuals are critical so we choose to only use data services from pure Canadian sources. All of our web hosting, Pop3 emails, Hosted Exchange and offsite data backup solutions are entirely Canadian based.
